City of Glasgow is the
most populous unitary authority area in Scotland.
It is on the River Clyde in the west central lowlands of Scotland.

had a population of over one million people.

as a major transatlantic trading
port with the Clyde

Today, Glasgow has Scotland's largest and most economically

commerce and retail sector.
It is one of Europe's top 16
financial centres
and home to many of the country's leading businesses.
Glasgow is the second most popular tourist destination in Scotland
after the capital Edinburgh
